Morning: Early Pickup and Chartered Boat Birding to Frigatebird Area

Early morning pickup directly from your hotel in Jakarta or Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 05:30. Our private air-conditioned vehicle transfers you swiftly to the Muara Angke marina before urban traffic builds.

Upon arrival, we board our private chartered motorized boat to explore the network of tidal mangrove canals and Jakarta Bay. Traveling by boat allows intimate, eye-level access to undisturbed roosting sites. We navigate out towards the outer bay where soaring Christmas Island Frigatebirds (Fregata andrewsi) circle above the fishing platforms and coastal shallows. Along the quiet mangrove channels, we spot Javan Coucal (Centropus nigrorufus) basking on exposed branches, Sunda Teal (Anas gibberifrons) dabbling in the shallows, and active flocks of Javan White-eye.

Mid-Morning to 12:00 PM: High-Power Scope Work and Mudflats

We moor near prime mudflat and fishpond viewpoints, setting up high-magnification spotting scopes to scan for the endangered Milky Stork (Mycteria cinerea), Javan Plover (Charadrius javanicus), Cerulean Kingfisher (Alcedo coerulescens), and Bar-winged Prinia (Prinia familiaris) along the shoreline scrub.

Our birding session concludes at 12:00 PM noon. We disembark and enjoy a fresh seafood lunch at a local waterfront restaurant while tallying our morning eBird checklist. Following lunch, our private vehicle transfers you comfortably back to your Jakarta hotel, Halim High-Speed Rail Station, or Soekarno-Hatta Airport for departing afternoon flights.
